The Henry Chadwick Primary School, School Lane, Hill Ridware, in Staffordshire has won the Powergen Positive Energy Award. The pupils have worked hard to produce a project showing positive aspects of learning at their school. Years 5 and 6 had an assembly introducing the concept of Positive Energy and pupils were encouraged to share their ideas about positive energy over a week.

As one of ten winning schools, Henry Chadwick Primary School will receive a cheque for £1000.

Michael Fabricant said: "At a time when our planet faces global warming and consequent dramatic changes in our weather, it is encouraging that pupils from Henry Chadwick Primary School have taken time to consider how energy savings can reverse climatic change. I congratulate all the children who participated and I am delighted that they have won this award. I hope to visit the School soon and learn more about their award winning project."

The Powergen Positive Energy School Awards was set up to support curriculum based learning in English, Music, Art and Dance for Key Stage 2 pupils.
