Yesterday, Wednesday March 1st, Michael Fabricant opened a major debate
on Government planning policy and on how it affects Market and Historic
Towns and Cathedral Cities like Lichfield.

Michael Fabricant now says: "I regret that the four questions I posed
to the minister were not answered despite my giving her prior notice of
these questions. The planning authorities of small towns like Lichfield
and Burntwood will be given no comfort by her reply. As I said in my
speech, the Government are the stewards of our built environment for
future generations. I fear that Prescott and his team are just not
prepared to protect our small towns and cathedral cities."
