Following my statement to the Prime Minister on Wednesday (13th September) regarding HS2 and my proposal that it be scrapped after Phase 1, speculation has increased as to HS2’s future.

On Thursday I explained to Andrew Pierce and Bev Turner on GB News how commuting patterns have changed on our rail network since Covid.

In rather more detail, I explained to Brett Birks on BBC Radio WM how high speed trains could travel down from Manchester on the West Coast main line, join the HS2 line at the junction north of Handsacre, then travel at high speed down to London via Birmingham.
