Lichfield & Burntwood Conservatives Re-Adopt Michael Fabricant For General Election
At the Annual General Meeting of the Lichfield Constituency Conservative Association held in the Guildroom, Lichfield last night ( Friday 31st March), Michael Fabricant was unanimously re-adopted to fight the General Election as the Conservative Parliamentary Candidate for the Lichfield Constituency. “It is an honour and a privilege to be asked to stand again”, says Michael Fabricant. “It was a tough battle in 1997 particularly as, thanks to the Parliamentary boundary change, I was unknown to large areas of my new constituency including Burntwood which was not in the old Mid Staffordshire constituency which I won in 1992. In the past 3 years I have enjoyed representing and helping thousands of people both in the new areas I have inherited as well as in Lichfield which I have represented since ’92. This is a very friendly and enjoyable area in which to live and after the next general election — whenever that might be — I look forward to continuing to look after and safeguarding the interests of everyone in the area”.
