PRIVACY NOTICE

This privacy notice relates to the personal data processed and held by the office of Michael Fabricant, when he was Member of Parliament for Lichfield, in relation to casework and policy queries.

Who is the Data Controller?

What did the Office do?

The office discharged the duties and functions of an elected Member of Parliament.  As part of this work on behalf of constituents, we conducted constituency casework, responded to policy queries, and organised tours and gallery tickets on request.

How did we process data?

This office processed constituents’ data under the lawful basis of public task.  In instances where this lawful basis is not sufficient and explicit consent is required, a member of the office will contact you to establish your consent.

If personal information about a relative, friend or other third party is given, this office will need to contact that person to confirm that they are happy for this office to act on their behalf.   The office should be notified if it would not be appropriate to contact the third party.

Will we share your data with anyone else?

If you have contacted Michael about a personal or policy issue, we may pass your personal data onto other agencies in the course of helping you (such as with the Department for Work and Pensions, the Child Maintenance Service, a local Housing Association, Government Ministers, Health Trusts, regulators and so on) if we believe this to be necessary to pursue the matter you raised.

We will not use your personal data in a way that goes beyond your reasonable expectations in contacting us.

For how long will you keep my personal data?

Unless specifically requested by you, our office will hold your personal data for no longer than six years and usually less.  However, now that Michael Fabricant is no longer the Member of Parliament all such data has been destroyed.

Access to your information and correction.

Should you wish to complain about the use of your information, we would ask that you contact us to resolve this matter in the first instance. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office in relation to our use of your information.  The Information Commissioner’s contact details are noted below:
