BURNTWOOD CHRISTMAS FESTIVAL – A SUCCESS!
Michael Fabricant, who attended the Burntwood Christmas Festival held on Saturday 5th December at Sankey’s Corner, has hailed the event “a great success!”.
Part of the road by Sankey’s Corner was pedestrianised and opened to amusement rides, a train, and various stalls. The photo shows Michael enjoying a hot mulled wine on the Multiple Sclerosis Support stand with some of the local councillors who helped organise the Festival.
“This new Burntwood Town Council are really getting a grip on things” says Michael. “The Christmas Festival has proved itself to be a huge success and I congratulate the Council and the many volunteers and business donors who helped make the event so popular. Without the Council having this positive attitude, it would never have happened. I hope that the Christmas Festival will grow in future years.
“Of course, what the Festival demonstrates, as did the go-kart races a while back, is the potential to make Sankey’s corner the beating heart of Burntwood. I hope that in the future, the area can be permanently pedestrianised and the surrounding buildings improved to provide an attractive space for locals to enjoy.”
