Michael Fabricant joined over a 100 Whittington Cricket Club players, supporters, family and friends on Saturday 19th March to help with the construction and painting of picket-fence around ground, stone collecting off the new outfield, net and sightscreen maintenance, and benches built and put around ground. "This was the Big Society in action" says Michael Fabricant "with the whole community pitching in. When the ground and cricket pavilion are completed, it will be a real asset to the village of Whittington. I was proud to play a small part in the work".

Also present were Dennis Amiss, the Club’s Patron, Danielle Wyatt who is one of England’s Female International cricketers, and representatives of the English Cricket Board.
