Labour’s Unpopularity
This Labour Government is now 32% more unpopular than the Conservatives were at the General Election last year. (A net approval rating of -54 compared with -41).
I would not like to be a Labour MP right now hoping it can only get better.
It won’t.
In April, Rachel Reeve’s tax rises all kick-in.
Among many other factors, it is worth recalling that Labour’s landside was not a vote in most cases for Labour, but rather a vote against – or abstentions from – the Conservative Party which had been in office for 14 years.
