Staffordshire Police have been taken out off the “Watch List”
Commenting on Staffordshire Police being taken off the ‘Engage’ enhanced monitoring process, Michael Fabricant says: “Full marks go to our relatively new Chief Constable, Chris Noble, his senior team, and officers on the ground for a major improvement in policing standards which have taken Staffordshire Police off the national ‘watch list’.
“These improvements will soon be noticed by residents and I applaud everyone concerned in making the sometimes uncomfortable changes in the force necessary to achieve this.”
Staffordshire Commissioner for Police, Fire & Rescue and Crime Ben Adams has praised the work of Staffordshire Police, following the news that the force has been removed from the ‘Engage’ enhanced monitoring process after demonstrating improvements in its service.
The decision was made today (21 May) by His Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary, Fire & Rescue Services (HMICFRS), in consultation with other police stakeholders, including the Home Office, the National Police Chiefs’ Council and the College of Policing.
Staffordshire Commissioner for Police, Fire & Rescue and Crime Ben Adams said: “Today’s decision by His Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary, Fire & Rescue Services to remove the force from the Engage process is testament to the wide-reaching improvements made by Staffordshire Police.
“This has only been possible due to the hard work and commitment of all the officers and staff here in Staffordshire, led by Chief Constable Chris Noble and his team, and I’m delighted to see that this hard work has been recognised by HMICFRS.
“This is a significant step forward by Staffordshire Police as they rapidly improve, and I will be closely monitoring the force’s performance on behalf of the communities of Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent to ensure that this momentum is maintained.”
