Awards for Care Workers
Michael Fabricant awarded Certificates and gifts to employee owned ‘Barton Mews and Cottage’ care home at Barton under Needwood on Friday 30th July.
“Despite its name, ‘Barton Mews and Cottage’ is a medium sized care and nursing home in Barton under Needwood operated by employee-owned Shaw Healthcare” says Michael.
“I was honoured to present certificates and awards to the hardworking and dedicated team who have cared from residents since the pandemic began. I am well aware how difficult it was in the early days of the pandemic: no-one understood the science of Covid-19 and the world shortage of PPE made healthcare particularly challenging. I was pleased to meet some of the team of professionals who work at Barton many of whom have worked in the service since it opened in 2007 including Julie Turner the Cottage Wing manager. I was pleased to be accompanied by Alun Thomas, the Chairman of Shaw Healthcare and by local councillor, Bev Ashcroft.
“Shaw Healthcare was founded in Wales and, like the Welsh founder of the John Lewis Partnership, is now operated by a Trust owned by its employees.”
