LICHFIELD AND BURNTWOOD CONSTITUENCY BREAKS 1% BARRIER
The Lichfield and Burntwood Parliamentary constituency breaks the 1% unemployment barrier in figures announced by the Office of National Statistics this morning (17th December).
“This will be a welcome Christmas present to my constituents” says Michael Fabricant. “In another consecutive fall in unemployment, the Lichfield and Burntwood constituency, which also includes Abbots Bromley Kings Bromley, Yoxall, Alrewas and other surrounding villages, has broken the 1% barrier and is now just 0.9%. This is the 611th highest of the 650 constituencies in the UK where 1st is the highest rate of unemployment and 650th is the lowest rate of unemployment. The number of Jobseeker’s Allowance claimants in Lichfield constituency in November 2014 was 387 which is 54 lower than in October 2014. The number of claimants is 403 lower than in November 2013.
“It is a reflection of the hard working qualities and education of my constituents and that the UK has the fastest growing economy of any major developed country in the world – faster than either the United States, Japan, or Germany” adds Michael.
