MICHAEL FABRICANT SUBMITS HIS RECOMMENDATIONS ON THE HS2 EXCEPTIONAL HARDSHIP SCHEME – COMPENSATION PACKAGE
Michael Fabricant has today submitted his response to the Government’s consultation on its Exceptional Hardship Scheme. “This is a compensation package for people who need to move home before the statutory compensation package is in place, but whose homes are blighted by HS2” Michael says. The response is attached. “I have also asked that owners of second homes and rental properties also be included for compensation.
“In addition, and in a covering letter to the Transport Secretary Patrick McLoughlin, I said: ‘While I am pleased by the greater flexibility and transparency of this consultation, I encourage the Government to clarify some of the criteria and definitions it uses. This will provide much needed reassurance for my constituents as would a decision to implement a property bond scheme for the entire scheme.’”
