HS2 WILL NOT RESTAGE ROADSHOW
Following Michael Fabricant’s letter to Alison Munro, managing director of HS2, requesting that the Property & Compensation Roadshow held last Friday (18th January) be restaged due to the snow, she has replied as follows:-
We are aware that the heavy snow on the 18th made it more difficult than expected for some people to attend the Property and Compensation Information Event held at the Lichfield Guildhall, but those who did were able to make use of the maps and documents on display, and to speak with a full complement of HS2 and Department for Transport staff. We had arranged in advance for a coach to bring people from the surrounding communities of Kings Bromley, Armitage and Handsacre to our event, and I have been informed that this service functioned normally in spite of the adverse conditions. The event remained open between the advertised opening hours of 12 and 8, and we were grateful of the chance to speak with a wide range of people who are potentially affected by these compensation proposals.
We do not intend to schedule a further event between now and the approaching closing date of the consultation on January 31. We encourage everyone with an interest in the proposals to download documents and maps from our consultation website, (http://highspeedrail.dft.gov.uk) or to order them by telephoning 0300 123 1102. People are also encouraged to make contact with the HS2 Public Enquiries Team if they have any questions about the consultation proposals. The team can be contacted on 0207 944 4908 or by email at hs2enquries@hs2.org.uk.
Kind regards
