FROM APRIL, 1,704 PEOPLE IN LICHFIELD WILL NO LONGER PAY TAX
"New data just available shows that 1,704 additional residents in Lichfield, Burntwood, and surrounding villages will no longer have to pay any income tax as a result of changes made in the budget" says Michael Fabricant. “And a further 1,236 people will be taken out of tax in 2013.
"I know that smokers and keen pasty eaters will have to pay more as a result of the budget, but some 31,737 residents in the Lichfield Parliamentary constituency will end up paying less tax. And far from suffering from a ‘granny tax’, pensioners will be receiving more too with an overall increase in their incomes.
"I know that times are tough for many, but I hope that this extra income will help stimulate the local economy of Lichfield and Burntwood" Michael adds.
