"Plans being considered by Staffordshire County Council for a new 217
acre gravel extraction site immediately north of Kings Bromley in
Staffordshire would cause even more misery to locals as still more heavy
trucks move aggregate along the A515" says Michael Fabricant.

The proposed site would be based around Bancroft farm and be operated by
Aggregate Industries Limited.

"As I understand it, this is a new site, not a permitted one. It’s in a
flood zone and a presently tranquil area. Aggregate Industries plan to
extract 500,000 tones over 20 years – that’s 25,000 tonnes of gravel
being moved on inadequate village roads each year. This proposal is
plainly unacceptable.

"Residents have until 24th November to make their views known to
Staffordshire County Council. Because of the tight time schedule, I
urge all interested parties to contact the Council direct by writing to:

They should mention the ‘Gravel Extraction proposal at Bancroft Farm
north of Kings Bromley’. At present, the site is only under general
consideration. If enough residents write now to complain, we should be
able to knock this one on the head before it goes any further" adds
