WHITEHALL ATTACK ON STAFFS AMBULANCE – “UNFOUNDED”
A statement issued by the NHS in London this week that the Staffordshire
Ambulance Service has been ‘fiddling its figures’ and that its
performance is ‘not as good as it has claimed’ is "completely unfounded"
says Michael Fabricant.
"I have now just learned that the error identified by the NHS was less
than one half of one percent (less than 0.5%) and, in practice, makes no
material difference whatsoever to the fact that the Staffordshire
Ambulance Service has the fastest emergency response times in Europe,
and – until vital equipment was recently removed from the ambulances –
4.5 times more likely to save the life of heart attack victims than the
West Midlands Ambulance Service.
"The spiteful and misleading news release issued by the NHS demonstrates
just how desperate the Government is to justify the misguided take-over
of the Staffordshire Ambulance Service by the West Midlands." Michael
adds.
