LICHFIELD ST JOHN AMBULANCE AWARDS NIGHT
Michael Fabricant and the Mayor of Lichfield, Cllr Mrs Norma Bacon,
presented award certificates to young members of the Lichfield Division
of the St John Ambulance at Charnwood School in Lichfield yesterday
evening (Tuesday 27th September). "Both parents and young members of
the Ambulance Service deserve our thanks for helping 2,300 needing
assistance in Staffordshire last year alone. Over a thousand volunteers
in Staffordshire gave 127,000 hours of their time freely for the care of
others.", Michael Fabricant told those present.
Michael presented award certificates to some of the 400 ‘Badgers’ (St
John Ambulance volunteers aged 5 to 10) in Staffordshire and to older
children, the Cadets. A special award was given to Cadet Sergeant Emma
Colley, aged 16, from Lichfield who is County Cadet of the Year.
Michael says: "People interested in joining the St John Ambulance
Service or enrolling their children as a Badger or a Cadet should
contact the County HQ in Stafford on 01785 257124. There can be nothing
more rewarding than saving another person’s life."
