BROADBAND DELAYED IN FRADLEY
Advantage West Midlands have contacted Michael Fabricant to say that the
introduction of broadband in Fradley has been delayed and is now not
likely to take place until at least November 2005 and possibly as late
as June 2006. The delay has been caused by the European Union which
insists that contracts for the supply of equipment and cabling must be
put out to European tender – a lengthy process.
"This delay will disappoint many people in Fradley" says Michael
Fabricant. "I will continue to put pressure on Advantage West Midlands
to ensure that no further delays are incurred. In the meantime some
businesses can apply for a RABBIT grant which can be used to fund
alternative methods of broadband connection including wireless and
satellite platforms. Anyone interested in pursuing this option should
check out their website at www.rabbit-broadband.org.uk or telephone 01564
71 1912." Michael adds.
