THE LICHFIELD MYSTERIES
Michael Fabricant joined many of the cast and friends of The Lichfield
Mysteries on Saturday night (26th February) in the Guildhall, Lichfield
in an evening of revelry, beer, and fun which included Madrigal
singing, a visit from Nell Gwyn, FiFi the flea, and a dancing bear. All
of this was to raise funds for the next performance of the Lichfield
Mystery Plays to be held on April 30th and May 1st in 2006.
Michael says: "The Lichfield Mysteries is fast becoming one of the
largest outdoor performances of its kind in Britain. Originally, it was
thought they would only be held once in every ten years, but the
performances held throughout the City of Lichfield have been such a
fantastic success, they are now to be held every 3 years. A huge amount
of work goes into these productions and they attract many tourists from
abroad to our City. I am delighted to support this venture.
"I hope to invite the Secretary of State for Culture Media and Sport to
Lichfield next year to witness the Mystery Plays in our City centre"
