KEEPING LICHFIELD CONSTITUENCY HEALTHY
"Let’s keep Lichfield and Burntwood healthy!" says Michael Fabricant. "Warm
Front grants are helping to keep the people of Lichfield District both warm
and healthy," says Michael. "The link between health and warmth has been
well established and these grants are a great way of keeping you warm and
also keeping healthy. It’s a shame that many people are missing out on the
benefits, which the Warm Front grant provides. As we come into the warmer
weather, now is the time to apply." Michael Fabricant was commenting on
the latest annual figures provided by Warm Front manager, Eaga Partnership,
detailing the amount of grant funded heating and insulation work done in
Lichfield. Eaga is an employee owned business and a social enterprise.
234 residents in Lichfield District have benefited, since April 2003, from
energy saving as a result of the free Warm Front grant to improve the
heating and insulation in their homes. £163,328.75 of Warm Front funding has
been spent in the Lichfield area helping local residents keep healthy, save
energy, cut the cost of their fuel bills and keep their homes warm
throughout the year.
Eaga Partnership has reported 18 households in Lichfield District have
benefited from a brand new central heating system and a further 22 have
received repairs to broken or condemned boilers. A further 203 households
will make savings from having their home insulated.
To qualify, householders need to own their own home or rent from a private
landlord, and they also need to be in receipt of an income or disability
related benefit. Local residents can contact the Warm Front team on 0800 316
6014 to apply for a grant.
