FABRICANT STARTS HEART FOUNDATION CYCLE RALLY
"There is life after major heart surgery." And with those words at 9am
this morning (Sunday 16th June) in Lichfield’s Market Square, Michael
Fabricant dropped the flag to start a 40 mile sponsored cycle rally for the
British Heart Foundation. Some of the 200 or so participants have had
double and triple by-pass surgery and their route takes them from Lichfield
to Fradley then onto Abbots Bromley and back. Participants are taking part
from all over the west midlands.
It is hoped that £10,000 will be raised for the British Heart Foundation.
Michael Fabricant now says: "Too many people die unnecessarily from heart
disease that could be prevented with a little regular exercise and healthy
eating. The British Heart Foundation conduct research into the causes and
treatment of heart disease as well as educating people in how to live
healthier lives. And regular cycling is just one of those healthy
lifestyles".
