NEW PHONES FOR WHITTINGTON
During a recent visit to Whittington Parish Council for a tour to discuss the impact of the widening of the West Coast Main Railway Line, Michael was shown the poor state of the red phone boxes in Whittington and Fisherwick.
"I was shocked" says Michael. "The paint is peeling off, glass panes broken, they look as if they are French public toilets! They are a disgrace."
After contacting BT on the Council's behalf, BT have now contacted Mr Fabricant to tell him that the phone boxes will now be cleaned, glass immediately replaced, and they will receive a complete repaint and refurbishment in the next 3 months. The beauty of the villages will now be restored.
